My name is Zach Breitenbach, and you have found your way to my home page. Here is some basic info on me...
The first thing that you should know about me is that I'm a Christian, and serving God is the top priority in my life. Now that I've covered the most important thing, here's the rest... I was born in Charleston, WV and lived there until I was two (so the details of my time there are a bit fuzzy)... I then lived in Cincinnati, Ohio until I was 13. In high school I moved to Cary, NC. I am a graduate of Cary High and NC State University. I received my Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and then I went on to get an MBA. I am now back in school going to a Christian seminary to study Christian apologetics (apologetics involves offering a reasoned defense for the truth of the Christian faith).
During my previous stint in college, I had the opportunity to compete on the wrestling team at NC State. God blessed me with quite a bit of success. I was the ACC wrestling champion at 197 pounds, 3-time All-ACC, qualified for the NCAA tournament three times, was named team captain and team MVP, and was nationally ranked as high as #7 in my weight class. I was also honored as the top male athlete at NC State my senior year. I completed my undergraduate and graduate studies with a 4.0 GPA and was named to the first team Academic All-America team for Division I wrestling. I owe the glory to God for anything good that is in my life, and I am by far the most thankful for the hope that I have in Jesus Christ and the amazing gift of being able to share God's truth with others! Even though I am a sinner and do not deserve anything, God allows me to serve him.
As far as my hobbies, some of them include Bible study, video games, weight lifting, and eating lots of pizza (now that I no longer have to make weight for wrestling). I also like to travel. I have been to China, Japan, Ireland, Germany, Greece, New Zealand, Hawaii, Haiti (for a mission trip), Italy, and more... But the best place I have ever visited is Israel. It was so cool to see the places where Jesus and the apostles actually walked!
My home page must first begin with a section regarding my faith in God. Without God, nothing else is significant anyway... If you have an interest in exploring the possibility that Christianity is true, it is my hope that something on this website will speak to you. If you have already accepted Jesus, I'm sure that you will find some of these links to be great resources. Should you have any questions about anything, or if you would like to discuss why I am absolutely convinced that God exists and the Bible is God's Word, feel free to email me. It would be my pleasure to hear from you.
Neat Christian song and a video...
This is a program I wrote in Perl that will give you a list of possible words
for almost any scrambled word that you enter. It can be quite useful for
those people who get frustrated by the "word unscramble" puzzle in the morning
paper. In order to prevent your insanity, I put my word unscrambler program online for you.
Although I am by no means a singer, I created a song that you might get a laugh out of (especially if you are familiar with the sport of wrestling)... It's a wrestling parody I made that is a takeoff on a song that is already a parody...
If you check out the other two before listening to mine, you'll see where it's coming from... Although I won't say the singing in my version is any kind of improvement, I think I managed to parody most of the wrestler stereotypes (and I can do that since I'm a wrestler)...
If you're REALLY bored, feel free to check out my picture page.
This (admittedly) stupid game, which I created myself, will allow you to take out your frustrations by blowing me up. Please understand that you play this game at your own risk, and I will take NO responsibility for any brain cells that you may lose as a result of playing... Zach
Attack.
This is another simple Perl program I wrote. For those of you who enjoy lifing weights (OK maybe only 1 out 100 people that are reading this, but anyway...), you might find this useful. It will calculate your
weightlifting max given the number of reps you can do at a certain weight. For example, let's say I know that I can do 10 reps of 300 pounds on the
bench press. My program will tell you how much weight you can max out at (your
one rep max).
Sarah Brightman in the Phantom of the Opera. That last note is AMAZING. Don't lose interest after the 2 minute intro...
Charlotte Church singing Carrickfergus.
Charlotte Church and Josh Groban singing The Prayer. This is an awesome song.
Mercy Me singing I Can Only Imagine. It really is cool to think about what heaven might be like and it is even cooler to live with the assurance of one day being there.
Extreme singing More Than Words. Very beautiful song.
This is one of my favorite Christian songs. Don Francisco's He's Alive is, in my opinion, a very powerfully delivered representation of the resurrection story - the most important event in the history of the world! This puts the music to a video slideshow.
Talk about retro - This is throwing it WAY back... My parents were teenagers when this groovy song was hot! Len Barry sings One, Two, Three live.
Please take my survey (only one question).
